‘The Street Corner Heritage Galleries scheme is a collaborative effort between NHB museums, heritage institutions and community galleries, and local shop owners in their respective precincts to strengthen partnerships with communities and raise awareness of and foster deeper appreciation for heritage in everyday spaces.’ (text by National Heritage Board)
Drawing inspiration from the stacked wooden crates used to transport artefacts, the structure of these galleries offer a nostalgic journey to the bygone eras of the shops.
These mini-galleries can be found in various precincts such as Balestier, Kampong Glam, Little India, Chinatown, and Katong-Joo Chiat.
